Areas of Expertise

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation, Medication Management and Individual psychotherapy

At Zen Mind Mental Health Center, I offer a wide range of services to help individuals achieve their mental health goals. I am experienced in providing compassionate and nonjudgemental sessions to individuals seeking mental health care and treatment. I specialize in anxiety, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mood disorders, trauma, and PTSD. I am available in person and through telehealth. My services are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual client using a collaborative and shared decision-making approach.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR uses a set of procedures to organize your negative and positive feelings, emotions, and thoughts, and then uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or alternating tapping, as the way to help you effectively work through disturbing memories. EMDR processing helps you break through the emotional blocks that are keeping you from living an adaptive, emotionally healthy life.

Internal Family System (IFS)

IFS is an evidenced-based therapy modality that perceives as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. The belief is that the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal. IFS is frequently used to help individuals heal by accessing and healing their protective/wounded inner parts. IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.

About me

Hello everyone. My name is Tina Wu. I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and psychotherapist. I speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin. I graduated from New York University (NYU) with my master's and doctorate degree in Nursing Practice. I have over 10 years of working in the field of nursing, where I discovered that we oftentimes neglect mental health and focus on the treatment of physical health. This brought me to the path of psychiatry where I trained in how to support individuals through their most difficult times. I truly believe that the mind and body are connected, and healing starts with compassion and love. Most of my clinical training was at a renowned Community Health Care Center where I saw patients across the lifespan. My approach is culturally informed, nonjudgmental, collaborative, holistic and integrative.
